Version: “Older Me Is Coming for Younger Me’s Record — With Snacks AND Boxing Energy”

Today is Day 70 of my run streak — and unlike my last streak, this one isn’t tapping out at 474. This is a scheduled rematch.
Why? Because I’m in a petty, slightly dramatic competition with my younger self — the one who ran a streak long enough to count as a committed relationship. She was basically married to her running shoes. And honestly? I still am. Some things never change.
Back then, she was springy, optimistic, and convinced recovery was for old people. Plot twist: I am the old people now — and I’m still coming for that streak. I’m energized, focused, and absolutely ready to take that girl down.
Some days I run like a champion.
Some days I run like a shopping cart with one rogue wheel.
Most days I run because I want this streak to last longer than my excuses.
But here’s the thing:
Older me has strategy.
Older me has grit.
Older me has snacks.
And older me is absolutely coming for that streak.
Day 70 down.
Tomorrow, we go for 71.
And somewhere out there, younger‑me just heard the bell ring.
Round two. Ding ding.
I’m going to keep showing up for every damn day — for Every Damn Mile.
If you’re a streak runner or streaking at anything in life, what’s your motivator?
