May Rundown: Every Damn Mile

May wasn’t loud or dramatic — it was life happening at full speed. Three graduations, long days, short nights, and the constant puzzle of when to run, not if. Some days I had plenty in the tank; other days I was running on fumes and pure spite — the kind of spite that could power a small Midwestern town.

But that’s the deal: life is hard, and we give ourselves grace when we’re not rolling at 100. And when we do hit the wins? We celebrate them like hell.

This month, I’m celebrating.

🎯 May’s Focus

Primary Goals

  • Run every day
  • Hit 129 miles (10 more than April)
  • Complete 3.11 miles a day for the AWM 3.11 x 311 Challenge
  • Stay injury‑free

Secondary Goals

  • Strength train 3x a week
  • Yoga at least 3x a week
  • Sleep… as much as possible

✅ What I Actually Did

Every single goal? Done.

  • ✔️ Ran every-damn-day
  • ✔️ Logged 129 miles — one hundred and twenty‑nine miles of consistency, stubbornness, and joy
  • ✔️ Completed every 3.11‑mile daily run for the AWM 3.11 x 311 Challenge
  • ✔️ No injuries
  • ✔️ Strength + yoga + sleep (ish) all held together in the chaos

💛 The Heart of It

May wasn’t about breakthroughs or PRs. It was about keeping pace with life and still carving out the miles that keep me grounded. Running continues to be my therapy — the place I recenter, breathe, think, and occasionally negotiate with my quads like they’re unionized.

At the end of the day, we yoga, recenter, and reconnect — because if I don’t stretch, something will quit or break.

Every damn mile means something to me, and this month reminded me why.

I’m proud of the work I put in. Proud of the miles. Proud of the balance. Proud of the grace.

Here’s to carrying that energy into June — one mile, one day, one questionable life choice at a time.

Success!
